Assignment 4 & 5 (Map & Blog Entry)

After examining what resources I had in my minimalistic household, I gathered paper, pencils, color pencils, and colored pens that still remained in my household despite throwing or donating things as I am moving soon. After reviewing the map I had already on a folder from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, I drew a rough outline of the map. I then retraced the lines with a color pen, gray for the roads, blue for the water, and red for the buildings. I labeled the buildings and if they could not fit on the building I drew lines from the name to the buildings. I intended to make a rough outline of the school in order to recognize buildings of the University of Hawaii, mostly buildings used for classes, and where to find them along with other school markers. Which is why it is devoid of most roads, parking lots and grassy areas as to focus on the school buildings.

Hi Lyka,

Did you watch the lecture this week? I made it very clear that you should not use or copy any existing map of campus. The purpose of this exercise was to think like an explorer and create a map from walking or exploring campus. I'm sorry I will not be able to give you many points for this one. Be careful to pay close attention to directions. Aloha.
